Course Overview

Objective:

Establish a habit of creative practice in your everyday life.

Additional Outcomes:

• Nurture spontaneity while maintaining consistency
• Rekindle the joy of creating (especially if you’ve been focused on the business and/or survival aspects of this life)
• Shift your focus from product to process so you can continue to create authentic art without added pressure

Format:

This course will meet remotely once a week for 50 minutes, with weekly assignments that empower you to evaluate and transform your relationship to creativity. Email support is available throughout the course.

All classes will be recorded and available for streaming. Worksheets and other assignment materials will be uploaded here throughout the course.

Class size is capped at 25 for a quality experience.

About the Instructor

Hi, I’m Nivi. I’ve been writing and performing my whole life. I’ve also spent 10+ years teaching creativity. I’ve also released original music, self-published an anthology of poetry, essays, fiction, and visual art, produced multiple variety shows, and performed in a variety of shows, including off-Broadway and PUNKBLACK Fest New Orleans - so I understand the challenges creatives face across disciplines.

I created Playfectionist Coaching to empower people to access their creativity from a place of joy, compassion, and unconditional self-love. Using the research I did while studying Education and Ethnic Studies at Columbia University and Educational Theatre at NYU, I’ve designed a unique, well-researched, and culturally responsive approach to coaching.

As a retired perfectionist, my approach is process-centered; in creative breakthrough sessions, I help clients rekindle their passion for creating with exercises that emphasize play, connection, and growth.
